These paintings refer to covering up, exposing and control. They are made solely by dripping paint onto canvas.
I control the placement of the drip only to give up that control and allow the paint to move on its own and, using gravity, choose its own path downward. Occasionally I coax the paint to move in a direction to expose specific colours. The fragments of colour left are either trying to hide or pushing to be seen. I enjoy the challenges of letting go of control in these paintings and allowing chance to dictate.
